Khyber Eye Foundation Organizes Free Eye Camp in Toheed Abad, Peshawar, Benefiting Over 200 Patients

Peshawar, Pakistan – On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Khyber Eye Foundation continued its commitment to accessible and quality eye care by organizing a free eye camp in Toheed Abad, Shaheen Muslim Town, Peshawar. This outreach initiative was part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to deliver essential eye health services to communities with limited access to medical facilities.

The eye camp received an encouraging response from the local population, with a total of 218 patients screened by a dedicated team of ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals. These screenings aimed to identify various eye conditions and provide immediate assistance to those in need, especially individuals who are unable to afford regular medical attention.

During the camp, 187 prescribed medicines were distributed free of charge to patients diagnosed with eye ailments. These medications were selected based on individual diagnoses to ensure proper and targeted treatment. Additionally, 120 near glasses were provided on the spot, enabling recipients to improve their vision and carry out everyday tasks more effectively. For many, this simple yet significant gesture brought immediate relief and a noticeable improvement in their quality of life.

To ensure comprehensive care for patients requiring more specialized attention, 41 individuals were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for detailed eye checkups and further examination. These patients will receive continued support and advanced treatment at the foundation’s main facility, where experienced specialists will oversee their care and recommend appropriate medical or surgical interventions as needed.

The Khyber Eye Foundation remains deeply committed to its mission of combating preventable blindness and promoting better eye health throughout the region. By organizing regular free camps in underserved areas, the foundation is not only addressing urgent medical needs but also raising awareness about the importance of early detection and timely treatment of vision-related issues.

This initiative reflects the foundation’s broader vision of community health and social responsibility. Plans are underway to expand such efforts to even more remote locations, ensuring that quality eye care becomes a right accessible to all, regardless of financial status or geographic location.
