Khyber Eye Foundation Brings Vision to Life with Free Eye Camp in Surizai Ghari, Peshawar

On December 14, 2024, Khyber Eye Foundation made a significant stride in its mission to enhance eye health by organizing a free eye camp in the community of Surizai Ghari Izzat Khan, Peshawar. This initiative exemplified the foundation’s commitment to delivering quality eye care services to underprivileged and underserved populations, addressing an essential healthcare need that profoundly impacts individuals and their families.

The camp attracted an enthusiastic response, with 194 individuals availing themselves of the services provided. Among those screened were 68 men, 118 women, three male children, and five female children, reflecting the widespread need for accessible eye care across all demographics. This substantial turnout underscores the importance of such initiatives in communities where healthcare resources are often limited or difficult to access.

In addition to comprehensive eye screenings, the foundation took proactive steps to address immediate eye care needs. A total of 180 medications were distributed free of charge, ensuring that patients with eye conditions could begin their treatment journey without delay. Furthermore, 120 near-vision glasses were provided, enabling recipients to carry out daily tasks with improved clarity and independence.

For cases that required advanced evaluation or treatment, 44 individuals were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation’s main facilities for a detailed eye examination. This seamless follow-up process ensures that those with more complex needs are given the specialized care and attention necessary for their well-being, demonstrating the foundation’s dedication to comprehensive and long-term healthcare solutions.
