Khyber Eye Foundation's Successful Free Eye Camp at Shagai Hinkiyan, Peshawar
On June 1, 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation took a significant step toward promoting eye health in the community by organizing a free eye camp at Shagai Hinkiyan, Peshawar. The camp was a resounding success, providing much-needed eye care services to a large number of residents.
The camp saw a total of 244 Outpatient Department (OPD) visits, reflecting the strong response from the local community. Of these, 54 were adult male patients, while 174 were adult female patients, indicating a higher turnout of women seeking eye care. The camp also catered to children, with 6 male and 10 female young patients benefiting from the services.
One of the key highlights of the camp was the distribution of 107 free eyeglasses, which would significantly improve the quality of life for those who received them. Additionally, 170 free medicines were provided to patients, addressing a variety of eye-related conditions.
The camp also identified 50 cataract patients who were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further treatment. This proactive approach ensures that these individuals will receive the necessary care to prevent further deterioration of their vision.
