Khyber Eye Foundation Organizes Free Eye Camp at Future World School and College DHA Peshawar
Peshawar, October 3, 2024 – In a commendable effort to promote eye health among students, the Khyber Eye Foundation (KEF) organized a free eye camp at Future World School and College in DHA Peshawar. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about eye care and offer students the opportunity for comprehensive eye screenings.
A total of 120 students participated in the eye camp, where their vision was assessed by a team of professional optometrists and eye specialists. Of those screened, 24 students underwent detailed refraction tests to determine the clarity of their vision. As a result, 12 students were advised to wear glasses to correct their vision, while another 12 students were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further detailed eye examinations.
The eye camp was part of the foundation’s ongoing mission to provide accessible eye care services to the community, particularly to school-going children who may be at risk of developing vision problems. By identifying potential issues early, the foundation hopes to ensure that children receive the treatment they need to maintain optimal eye health.
Speaking on the occasion, a representative from the Khyber Eye Foundation emphasized the importance of routine eye checkups for students, stating, “Good vision is crucial for a child’s learning and development. By conducting these camps, we aim to catch vision problems early and ensure that no child’s education suffers due to undiagnosed eye issues.”
The camp at Future World School and College DHA Peshawar is just one of many community outreach programs that the Khyber Eye Foundation plans to conduct in the future, with the goal of improving eye health across the region.
