Khyber Eye Foundation Organizes Free Eye Camp in Nasapa Bala, Peshawar, Providing Essential Eye Care to the Community

Peshawar, Pakistan – February 22, 2025 – In a continued effort to provide quality eye care services to communities with limited access to medical facilities, the Khyber Eye Foundation successfully organized a free eye camp at Nasapa Bala, Peshawar, on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The initiative aimed to address common eye health issues, raise awareness about preventable blindness, and ensure that individuals receive necessary treatment without financial constraints.

The eye camp attracted a significant number of people from the surrounding areas, with a total of 160 patients screened by a team of highly skilled ophthalmologists and medical professionals. The screening process helped identify a range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, cataracts, infections, and other vision-related issues. Many of the patients had been experiencing difficulties with their eyesight for a long time but lacked the resources to seek professional medical attention.

To provide immediate relief and necessary treatment, 163 medicines were distributed free of cost to patients diagnosed with various eye conditions. These medications were carefully prescribed based on each patient’s specific needs, ensuring they received the proper treatment to manage their conditions effectively. The initiative was particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from chronic eye problems who had not previously had access to medical intervention.

Recognizing the essential role of clear vision in daily life, the foundation also provided 89 near glasses to individuals struggling with vision impairment. Many beneficiaries, especially elderly individuals and those engaged in reading or close-up work, expressed their gratitude for this life-changing support. With improved vision, they can now perform everyday tasks with greater ease and confidence, enhancing their quality of life and productivity.

In addition to providing immediate treatment and vision correction, the camp also identified 31 patients who required further medical attention. These individuals were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation’s main facility for a detailed eye checkup, where they will undergo a more comprehensive examination and receive specialized treatment under the care of experienced ophthalmologists. The foundation is committed to ensuring that these patients receive the necessary follow-up care and, if needed, surgical intervention to restore or improve their vision.

The Khyber Eye Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to combat preventable blindness and promote eye health across Pakistan. By organizing such free eye camps, the foundation not only provides essential medical services but also raises awareness about the importance of regular eye checkups and early diagnosis of eye diseases. This initiative serves as a reminder of the foundation’s deep commitment to public welfare, ensuring that quality eye care services are accessible to all, regardless of financial limitations.

The success of this eye camp highlights the urgent need for continued efforts in reaching underserved populations with vital eye care services. Moving forward, the Khyber Eye Foundation aims to expand its outreach by organizing more free eye camps in remote and disadvantaged areas. The foundation welcomes collaboration and support from individuals, philanthropists, and organizations willing to contribute to this noble cause, helping to bring the gift of sight to those in need.
