Khyber Eye Foundation and Lions Club International Bring Eye Care to Larama Village

On 20 April 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation partnered with Lions Club International to conduct a free eye camp at Larama Village in Peshawar. The initiative aimed to provide essential eye care services to the local community, with a total of 111 people attending the Outpatient Department (OPD).

The camp witnessed a significant turnout of adults, with 44 males and 46 females availing themselves of the free services. The event also catered to the needs of children, with 14 male and 7 female young patients receiving eye care. This diverse attendance underscored the foundation’s commitment to serving individuals of all ages.

During the camp, 56 free eyeglasses were distributed to those needing vision correction, enhancing the quality of life for many participants. Additionally, 153 units of free medicines were provided, addressing various eye-related conditions and promoting overall eye health.

A noteworthy aspect of the camp was identifying 34 patients with cataracts. These individuals were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further treatment, ensuring they received the necessary care to improve their vision and prevent potential blindness.

The collaborative effort between the Khyber Eye Foundation and Lions Club International at Larama Village highlights the impact of community partnerships in delivering vital healthcare services. Through such endeavors, the organizations continue to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families, fostering a healthier and more vibrant community.
