Khyber Eye Foundation Organizes Successful Free Eye Camp in Peshawar

Peshawar, December 16, 2023 – The Khyber Eye Foundation significantly impacted the community by organizing a free eye camp at the Hazar Khawani Dispensary in Peshawar. The event was a resounding success, with many patients benefiting from the services provided.

The Foundation conducted 284 outpatient department (OPD) sessions during the camp. The breakdown of these sessions revealed a substantial participation of both adults and children. Among the adults, 65 male patients and 172 female patients received eye care. Meanwhile, the children’s OPD sessions included 27 boys and 20 girls.

In an effort to improve the vision and eye health of the attendees, the Foundation distributed 120 pairs of free eyeglasses. This initiative was complemented by the distribution of 170 free medicines, addressing a variety of eye-related ailments.

A notable aspect of the camp was the identification and referral of cataract patients for further treatment. A total of 86 individuals were diagnosed with cataracts and referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for specialized care, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to addressing serious eye conditions.

The eye camp at Hazar Khawani Dispensary underscores the Khyber Eye Foundation’s dedication to enhancing eye care accessibility and promoting eye health awareness in the Peshawar region.
