Khyber Eye Foundation's Free Eye Camp in Gunj: A Major Step Toward Community Health

On August 10, 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation made a significant contribution to the well-being of the residents of Gunj, Peshawar, by organizing a free eye camp. This event was a part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide essential eye care services to underserved communities.

The camp was a great success, with a total of 218 patients attending the OPD (Outpatient Department). This impressive turnout highlights the pressing need for accessible eye care in the region and the trust the community places in the Khyber Eye Foundation.

During the camp, 93 free near glasses were distributed, offering immediate relief to individuals struggling with vision problems. These glasses will not only improve their eyesight but also enhance their daily lives by allowing them to carry out tasks that require clear vision.

Additionally, 178 free medicines were distributed to treat various eye conditions, ensuring that patients received the necessary care and support. The camp also identified 56 patients suffering from cataracts, a condition that, if left untreated, can lead to severe vision impairment. These patients were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further examination and surgical intervention, demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to providing comprehensive eye care.

The success of this eye camp in Gunj reflects the Khyber Eye Foundation’s dedication to improving eye health across the region. By providing free services and raising awareness about the importance of eye care, the foundation continues to make a significant impact on the lives of many individuals in need. This initiative is a testament to the foundation’s mission to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to receiving essential eye care services.
