Khyber Eye Foundation Brings Vision Care to Peshawar with Free Eye Camp
On 17 February 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation hosted a free eye camp at Fruit Mandi, Peshawar, showcasing its ongoing commitment to community health. This initiative provided vital eye care services to the local population, especially those with limited access to medical facilities.
The camp was well-attended, with 295 individuals visiting the Outpatient Department (OPD). Most attendees were male adults, numbering 294, indicating a significant participation from this demographic. Additionally, there was one female child who also received care, reflecting the inclusivity of the camp.
One of the camp’s notable achievements was the distribution of 110 free eyeglasses, helping many individuals enhance their vision and improve their daily lives. Moreover, the foundation provided 175 free medicines, addressing various eye health needs and demonstrating a comprehensive approach to eye care.
A critical aspect of the camp was its focus on identifying serious eye conditions. Ninety-nine cataract patients were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further treatment, ensuring they received the necessary surgical interventions and follow-up care.
The successful execution of this eye camp highlights the Khyber Eye Foundation’s dedication to eye health in the region. By offering these essential services, the foundation is making significant strides in reducing the impact of eye-related ailments and improving the overall quality of life for the community.
