Khyber Eye Foundation Hosts Free Eye Camp at Dalazak Road Dispensary
On June 29, 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation made a significant impact on the community by hosting a free eye camp at the Dalazak Road Dispensary in Peshawar. The camp was organized to provide essential eye care services to residents, offering consultations, free eyeglasses, and medications to those in need.
The camp saw a total of 164 patients visiting the outpatient department (OPD) for various eye-related issues. Among these, 51 adult males and 79 adult females received consultations, highlighting the importance of accessible healthcare for adults in the community. In addition, 34 children, including 24 boys and 10 girls, were examined, ensuring that even the youngest members of the community had access to eye care.
One of the key outcomes of the camp was the distribution of 98 pairs of free eyeglasses, helping patients with vision impairments improve their quality of life. Additionally, 96 free medicines were provided to patients, addressing various eye conditions and promoting overall eye health.
The camp also identified 50 cataract patients who were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further treatment. This referral process ensures that these patients will receive the specialized care they need to restore their vision.
The Khyber Eye Foundation’s initiative at Dalazak Road Dispensary underscores its commitment to improving eye health in the region. By providing free services, the foundation is not only addressing immediate healthcare needs but also raising awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups and early intervention in preventing vision loss.
