Free Eye Camp in Yousuf Abad: A Successful Initiative by Khyber Eye Foundation

On July 27, 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation demonstrated its commitment to community health by organizing a free eye camp in Yousuf Abad, Peshawar. This initiative was aimed at providing essential eye care services to those who may not have easy access to medical facilities.

The camp saw a significant turnout, with a total of 60 patients attending the OPD (Outpatient Department). Among them, 21 were adult males, and 30 were adult females, indicating a good response from the adult population. Additionally, the camp served 9 children, with 1 male and 8 female children benefiting from the services provided.

One of the highlights of the camp was the distribution of free eyeglasses to those in need. A total of 32 eyeglasses were given out, helping individuals improve their vision and enhancing their quality of life. In addition to this, 60 free medicines were distributed, addressing various eye conditions and ensuring that patients received the necessary treatment.

The camp also identified 15 patients with cataracts, a common yet serious eye condition that can lead to blindness if untreated. These patients were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further examination and surgical intervention, showcasing the foundation’s dedication to comprehensive eye care.

The success of this eye camp underscores the importance of such initiatives in underserved communities. The Khyber Eye Foundation’s efforts in Yousuf Abad have not only provided immediate relief but have also raised awareness about the importance of eye health in the community. Through continued efforts like these, the foundation hopes to make a lasting impact on the lives of many more individuals in need.
