Khyber Eye Foundation Hosts Successful Free Eye Camp in Peshawar
On July 13, 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation took a significant step toward promoting eye health in the community by organizing a free eye camp at the Dalazak Road Dispensary in Peshawar. The event, aimed at providing accessible eye care to those in need, saw an impressive turnout and offered a range of services to the local population.
A total of 244 patients attended the camp, where they received comprehensive eye examinations. The breakdown of the attendees highlighted the foundation’s inclusive approach, with 50 adult males and 152 adult females making up the majority of the patients. Additionally, 27 male children and 15 female children were also examined, ensuring that eye care was provided across all age groups.
One of the key highlights of the camp was the distribution of free eyeglasses, with 111 pairs being handed out to those requiring corrective lenses. This initiative is particularly impactful, as it directly addresses the vision problems faced by many individuals who may not have the means to purchase eyeglasses on their own.
In addition to the eyeglasses, 201 free medicines were distributed to patients, ensuring that those with specific eye conditions received the necessary treatment. The camp also identified 55 cataract patients who were referred to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further treatment, demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to providing ongoing care for more serious conditions.
The success of this eye camp is a testament to the Khyber Eye Foundation’s dedication to improving eye health in the region. By offering free services and ensuring follow-up care, the foundation continues to play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for countless individuals in Peshawar and beyond.
