Khyber Eye Foundation Brings Vision Care to Blind Govt Institute

On 21 March 2024, the Khyber Eye Foundation organized a free eye camp at the Blind Govt Institute in Peshawar, demonstrating its dedication to eye health and support for individuals with visual impairments. This initiative aimed to provide vital eye care services to a community that often faces unique challenges in accessing medical resources.

During the camp, a total of 70 individuals participated in the Outpatient Department (OPD) sessions.

A significant outcome of the eye camp was the identification and referral of 35 cataract patients. These individuals were directed to the Khyber Eye Foundation for further treatment, ensuring they receive the necessary care to potentially restore or improve their vision. Cataracts, a leading cause of vision impairment and blindness, can significantly affect the quality of life, and timely intervention is crucial.

The free eye camp at the Blind Govt Institute underscores the Khyber Eye Foundation’s commitment to reaching out to underserved communities, particularly those in institutions dedicated to the visually impaired. By providing essential eye care services and facilitating access to treatment, the foundation continues to play a vital role in enhancing the lives of many in the region.
