Khyber Eye Foundation Hosts Free Eye Camp in FR Peshawar

Peshawar, Pakistan – April 5, 2025 – Continuing its mission to provide quality eye care to underserved communities, Khyber Eye Foundation organized a free eye camp on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Syed Azam, FR Peshawar. This initiative was part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to ensure that individuals in remote and less accessible areas receive timely and essential eye care services, regardless of their financial circumstances.

The camp drew a significant response from the local population, with a total of 183 patients screened by a team of qualified eye specialists and support staff. Patients underwent thorough eye examinations aimed at detecting common vision problems as well as more serious eye conditions that require medical attention. The camp played a vital role in identifying those in need of immediate care and providing them with on-the-spot treatment.

During the camp, 168 prescribed medicines were distributed free of cost to patients diagnosed with various eye issues. These medicines were provided to help manage conditions such as infections, inflammations, and other non-surgical vision problems. Additionally, 104 near-vision glasses were given to individuals suffering from poor eyesight, enabling them to perform daily tasks such as reading and working with greater ease. These glasses were provided on the spot and at no cost, bringing instant relief and practical benefit to many attendees.

Recognizing that some cases required further evaluation and advanced treatment, 53 patients were referred to Khyber Eye Foundation’s main facility for comprehensive eye checkups. These referrals are critical for ensuring that patients receive continued and specialized care, including surgical interventions or in-depth diagnostics if needed.

The success of this free eye camp underscores the Khyber Eye Foundation’s ongoing commitment to public welfare and healthcare outreach. The foundation continues to bridge the gap between quality healthcare and communities that often go overlooked, working tirelessly to eliminate preventable blindness and restore vision to those in need.

Khyber Eye Foundation remains dedicated to expanding its reach through similar eye care initiatives across Pakistan. Through collaboration, community engagement, and the support of compassionate individuals and partners, the foundation hopes to serve even more people in the months to come.
