Khyber Eye Foundation Brings Vision Care to Bahdar Village with Free Eye Camp

Peshawar, November 23, 2024 – Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to making eye care accessible to underserved communities, Khyber Eye Foundation successfully organized a free eye camp in Bahdar Village, Peshawar. This initiative highlights the Foundation’s dedication to promoting eye health and raising awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment of vision problems, especially in areas where access to medical facilities is limited.

The eye camp received an enthusiastic response from the local community, with 178 patients benefiting from free eye screenings conducted by a skilled team of eye care professionals. Each patient was thoroughly assessed to identify vision impairments, eye diseases, and other related conditions. As part of its comprehensive outreach efforts, the Foundation distributed free medicines to 152 patients, ensuring they received immediate relief and appropriate treatment for their eye conditions. Additionally, 110 individuals were provided with near-vision glasses, enabling them to perform daily tasks with improved clarity and comfort.

Recognizing the need for advanced care in certain cases, the camp referred 37 patients to Khyber Eye Foundation’s specialized hospital for detailed eye checkups and further treatment. This step ensures that individuals with more complex conditions receive the expert care necessary to protect and restore their vision. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term care requirements, the Foundation continues to set an example of holistic healthcare delivery.

Speaking on the occasion, a representative from Khyber Eye Foundation remarked, “This free eye camp reflects our ongoing mission to bring quality healthcare to those who need it the most. We believe in bridging the gap between communities and essential medical services, and this camp in Bahdar Village is a testament to our commitment to accessible and affordable eye care.”

The event also served as an educational opportunity, emphasizing the significance of regular eye checkups and early diagnosis in preventing irreversible vision loss. Many attendees learned about common eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive errors, as well as practical steps to maintain eye health. The Foundation’s team ensured that each patient not only received treatment but also gained valuable knowledge about their own health.

Khyber Eye Foundation’s outreach programs, such as this free eye camp, aim to make a lasting difference in the lives of underserved populations. By directly addressing the challenges of limited access to healthcare, the Foundation is helping to reduce preventable blindness and empower individuals with the gift of better vision.
